As we all
know, there are many rumours concerning Isobelle Carmody and her books
floating around. These rumours may, or may not be true, but if you know
one that is not on this page, please feel free to email me.

blame me if they're not correct. If I know they are true or false, I will
try and make it known to you as soon as possible.
The Rumours
 |
The fifth book in the
Obernewtyn Chronicles is "The Sending." This book will be
published sometime in April, 2002.

There's going to be a new
series called Gateway. It will be published in June 2000. As far as
I know, this rumour is false, although many do say that
"Billy Thunder and the Nightgate", her latest book is actually
the first book in Gateway.

Darksong (Legendsong #2) is going to
be published sometime in April 2001. The book after that will be out
some time in 2003. The next Obernewtyn book will be out after that. I
think just about all of us know that at least the publishing date of
Legendsong #2 is wrong - April's far gone and still no sign of the
second book.

In the fifth or sixth book of the
Obernewtyn Chorincles, Rushton and Elspeth have a child (from
Cordelia, Farseeker Guild)
|
 |
Ariel is NOT the destroyer, he is
just someone who will bring destruction, may I repeat, he is NOT the
destroyer (from Iris of the Farseeker Guild) Iris emailed me this
rumour, which she has heard from the wondrous Isobelle Carmody
herself, so I guess it's safe to assume this rumour is true...although
the fact that Ariel is not the destroyer was somewhat shocking to
me...

In the next Obernewtyn book, Matthew
returns to Obernewtyn but in some way, he is changed...(from Sulphera
of the Beastspeaker Guild)

The next book in the Obernewtyn
Chorincles, The Sending, is also the last book in the series. The
has been quite a few traces of the rumour in plenty of chat rooms,
message boards and websites. Personally, I don't think it's gonna
happen. We all know that though, by the fourth book, Elspeth has
already found the location of the first sign, she still has not
actually found the first sign. At the rate this is going, I think
there has to be at least 10 books in the series, not five.
